Join environmental advocates and groups to rally supporting on-site storage of radioactive wastewater at the currently decommissioning Indian Point nuclear power plant. Last year, advocates and elected officials succeeded in championing the Save the Hudson Bill into law. The bill banned the discharge of any radiological substance into the Hudson River during the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant.

The rally will take place at 5pm ahead of the 6pm Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board meeting, which will feature a presentation from nuclear expert Arnie Gunderson of Fairewinds Energy Education about a solution for on-site storage of Indian Point’s radioactive water. Participating environmental groups include: Food & Water Watch, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition (IPSEC), Lower Hudson Valley Sierra Club, Safe Energy Rights Group (SEnRG), United for Clean Energy, among others, will be opened by a member of the Ramapo Munsee Lenape Nation.

The meeting will be held both virtually and in person at the Cortlandt Town Hall at 6pm (doors at 5:30pm). To attend virtually, access Zoom here, or use the meeting information below
