Sail on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater! Join us for an unforgettable experience aboard America’s Environmental Flagship, and focus on the enjoyment of the river and the company of those on board. After raising the mainsail, the time you spend on board is yours on our Public Sails. We also occasionally host speakers and musicians aboard as well, which enhance the sail experience. If you’re interested in performing aboard the Clearwater, please submit our Musician Interest Form.

Sailing aboard Clearwater creates a special experience that inspires and reconnects you to the river, all while enjoying beautiful vistas of the Hudson Valley or the New York City skyline. While aboard, don’t forget to visit our crew at the fish tank to see some Hudson River Critters. Also, meet the Captain at the helm to take a turn on the tiller, and enjoy our traditional moment of silence broken by song before returning to the dock. Each sail is a journey to realize the beauty of the Hudson River Valley and learn more about Tall Ship sailing and local environmental concerns.

The Public Sail calendar is updated on a rolling basis throughout the sailing season. Clicking on an entry will take you to our FareHarbor booking platform. Please visit the Come Sailing page for additional information about Charters, Group, and Education Sails. Access Frequently Asked Questions about sailing on the Clearwater here.

As a non-profit, Clearwater sets its fares below market rate and below prices that would cover our operating expenses. Most of our sails are priced at our standard fare, though we price sails at Flexible Fare and Pay-What-You-Can when we can. Sponsorship from local businesses is an important way we can offer Flexible Fare and Pay-What-You-Can sails. If you’re interested in sponsoring a Community Sail, contact Meg Mayo at meg@clearwater.org.

Standard Fares

Flexible Fare: Tickets priced at $10+ to allow guests to select a price comfortable for them at or above $10.

Pay-What-You-Can: Guests select a price comfortable for them.

With questions about sail pricing, contact our Sales and Booking Coordinator, Mo Springer at sail@clearwater.org.
