Clearwater Walkabout Chorus for their January 17 Coffeehouse featuring Joe Crookston. *Please note, shows are now matinees with doors at 2:30pm, followed by Teachabout at 2:45pm, and the featured performance at 3:30pm.

Reserve a $30 ticket ahead of time and pay at the door by check, cash, or credit card upon arrival at the event, or purchase a ticket at the door for $35. Student tickets are $10 with presentation of a valid student ID. Children under 6 are free. Reserve your ticket.

About Joe Crookston
On stage, Joe Crookston is a force of nature; his rhythms are infectious. He is funny as hell one moment and transcendent the next.

Born and raised in rural Ohio, he attended Kent State University, where he attended the Kent State Folk Festival, where folk music became his focus. Currently, he is based in Ithaca, New York, and tours extensively around the U.S., Canada, and Ireland. He has performed with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka and Judy Collins and has played at music festivals such as The Goderich Roots Festival, The Kerrville Folk Festival, The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, 30A Songwriters Festival, Mariposa Folk Festival, Caramoor Music Fest, Fayetteville Roots Festival and The Heartwood Stage Festival. He has taught songwriting and guitar at The Swannanoa Gathering, The Ashokan Center, Winter Village Music Camp, The Goderich Celtic College, Appel Farm Arts, and Music Center Wildflower Music Festival. About Walkabout Clearwater Chorus + Coffeehouse
Walkabout is The Walkabout Clearwater Chorus is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and social action through song and education. A New York not-for-profit organization of volunteers operating under the name Walkabout Clearwater Sloop Inc., the Chorus is a chartered member-club of the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, and its activities support the work of its parent organization.

More than just a singing group, the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus performs at a wide range of venues, including its own Coffeehouse, as well as rallies and marches. Through school programs, the Chorus introduces folk music to younger generations. At its core, the group is made up of activists—using their voices to address the pressing issues of today, uniting song with purpose.
