As the owner of Elements Yoga and Paddleboard, Jessie spends a lot of time paddling and has set her sights on completing the 100-mile challenge this summer. She normally paddles on the Hudson River, Wallkill River, Round Lake, and Round Pond, and is always on the lookout for paddleable water wherever she goes, so Saratoga, Woodstock, Manhattan, Guatemala, and beyond.
Drawn to Clearwater by a love of music and water, Jessie now supports the organization as a member and a Paddle for our Hudson Outfitter, reflecting: “from the sloop to the Youth Empowerment Programs and Folk Picnic, I’m honored to be part of it all.”
More from Jessie:
Q: What inspires you to Paddle for Our Hudson?
A: As a long time water lover, and the owner of Elements Yoga and Paddleboard, I have a vested interest in the preservation and protection of our local waterways, and in being actively involved in that. And since I am always taking people out and paddling ON our Hudson, Paddling FOR our Hudson was a no brainer.
Q: Where are you paddling during the challenge?
A: Anywhere and everywhere! I hold regular paddles on the Hudson River mostly out of Beacon, on the Wallkill River, Round Lake, and on Round Pond. I’m always on the look out for paddleable water wherever I go, so Saratoga, Woodstock, Manhattan, Guatemala…nowhere is off limits (unless it’s actually off limits )!
About Paddle for Our Hudson
Paddle for Our Hudson is Hudson River Sloop Clearwater’s annual paddling challenge and fundraiser where paddlers compete against eachother and themselves to log miles to raise awareness and funds to support Clearwater’s mission to protect the Hudson River and steward the next generation of environmental leaders through education, advocacy, sailing, and music.
Whether on a canoe, kayak, rowboat, or stand-up paddle board, all are welcome to Paddle for Our Hudson! Paddle can be completed from anywhere, miles do not need to be logged in the Hudson River or Hudson River Watershed – paddle for our Hudson from near or far.
