Join Hudson River Sloop Clearwater for our 2026 Open Boats! Spend an afternoon in community with live music, kids activities, tours of the Clearwater’s winter restoration projects, and bring a dish to pass for the potluck lunch.

For our January Open Boat we will be joined by:
- Emmett Goodman-Boyd, storyteller, former crewmember and well-known goofball for an interactive storytime at 1:15pm. Perfect for kids of all ages.
- The Adventure Boat Club will be facilitating a kids activity table
- Musician Morgan O’Kane will be performing. Morgan plays the banjo as if his life depended on it, (as it has on many occasions) with an intensity that evokes a redeeming kind of sadness that will resonate with anyone ready to give it the space. Songs of heartbreak, hard traveling, and the love of friends, songs about the ongoing war humans wage against themselves and the earth
For our February Open Boat we will be joined by:
- Emmett Goodman-Boyd, storyteller, former crewmember and well-known goofball for an interactive storytime at 1:15pm. Perfect for kids of all ages.
- Faith from Faithfully Yours Atelier specializes in sustainable fashion – reducing waste one upcycle at a time and will be hosting a mending table. please bring an item that is in need of light mending and Faith will guide you through a repair. Materials provided and donations accepted. Remember, the most environmentally friendly clothes are the ones we already have!
- Livingston Street Early Childhood Community will be is an outdoor, nature-based care program for children ages 3-5, located just up the hill from the Rondout Creek and will be hosting a kids activity table.
Open Boats are free community events – if you’re able, please consider a $5 donation to support our year-round efforts to protect the Hudson and inspire the next generation of river advocates.
