After learning that sturgeon live in a part of the river near his home, our artist was inspired by this dinosaur still swimming in our waters today – waters the majestic Hudson River Sloop Clearwater has been sailing for more than 50 years.
Queerwater Mug
Queerwater is our youth empowerment program for LGBTQ+ and allied teens. The name originated in the 80’s when the first large cohort of out LGBTQ crew-members worked on the Clearwater and caught the attention of other boats in the region. They affectionately, (and sometimes not so affectionately), started calling the boat Queerwater, a play on “Clearwater.” Over time, the crews of the 80’s and beyond embraced the name
