Sat 25 Reviving the Fall Kill: Creek Clean Up and Glass Workshop Day
The Pavilion at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie, NY
9:30am to 5pm
Join the Fall Kill Watershed Committee, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and lots of excited volunteers as they clean garbage and glass out of the Fall Kill Creek. The glass collected will be brought to the Children’s museum to be cleaned and sorted for use by a local artist. The final piece of artwork will be installed at the Children’s Museum. Stop by the Pavilion to observe community artwork in the making, or contact Jennifer Rubbo, Fall Kill Watershed Coordinator (845-454-7673 x114, or jen@clearwater.org) to register to volunteer for the creek Clean Up and Glass Workshop Day. This project is made possible (in part) through a grant from the Dutchess County Arts Council, administrator of public funds through NYSCA’s Decentralization Program and through the support of our sponsors: Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, M.T. Great Hudson River Revival
Initial Lineup Announced and Tix on Sale Now!
Contemporary blues star Susan Tedeschi, renowned Sixties era troubadour Arlo Guthrie and “newgrass” sensations Old Crow Medicine Show are among the headliners at Clearwater’s 2009 Great Hudson River Revival, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21 at Croton Point Park in Croton-on Hudson, NY. This year the Revival will help mark three auspicious occasions:
  • 40th anniversary of the launch of sloop Clearwater
  • 90th birthday celebration and tribute for Pete Seeger
  • 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage up the Hudson River.
Tickets for the Revival, which is a fundraiser for Hudson Sloop Clearwater and also the country’s oldest music and environmental festival, are now on sale.
