Robi Schlaff

Robi Schlaff is a decades-long supporter of Clearwater, growing up in Brooklyn on Jamaica Bay, with a sailor/environmentalist dad who introduced her to Pete Seeger and brought her on the sloop more than 40 years ago.

Robi is an attorney who has worked in government, as special counsel to the commissioner of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and in private practice. At DEC she co-chaired three statewide climate change groups, led the NYS Sea Level Rise Task Force that issued the first report on  sea level impacts  and oversaw environmental justice priorities for the agency.  After leaving the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Robi chose to join the board of Clearwater and has proudly continued her leadership role there for the  past nine years.

She is currently the director of the Westchester County Office for Women, an office dedicated to providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other family offenses, coordinating policy and programs and leading Westchester’s coordinated community response to these issues. She chairs the domestic violence council and women’s advisory board for the county.

She has served on several community and non-profit boards and is committed to social justice.
