Join us for our February Open Boat to learn about this winter’s restoration projects, meet our crew and staff, and enjoy an afternoon of live music, boat tours, and children’s activities! We’re also excited to be joined by Faith from Faithfully Yours Atelier who will host a mending table, and Livingston Street Early Childhood Community who will facilitate kid’s activities, and music by Morgan O’Kane. This gathering will also include a potluck, so please bring a potluck dish or snack to share, and your plate and utensils to reduce waste. A reminder to dress in warm layers, the barn is chilly in the winter!
About Faithfully Yours Atelier: Faith specializes in sustainable fashion – reducing waste one upcycle at a time. She makes clothes that are one-of-a-kind and gender-free! For the mending table, please bring an item that is in need of light mending and Faith will guide you through a repair. Materials provided and donations accepted. Remember, the most environmentally friendly clothes are the ones we already have!
About Livingston Street Early Childhood Community: Livingston Street is an outdoor, nature-based care program for children ages 3-5, located just up the hill from the Clearwater barn. There, emotional well-being and social competence are nourished in young children through the creation of meaningful relationships. We can’t wait to see what kids activities they will bring!
About musician Morgan O’Kane: Morgan plays the banjo as if his life depended on it, (as it has on many occasions) with an intensity that evokes a redeeming kind of sadness that will resonate with anyone ready to give it the space. Songs of heartbreak, hard traveling, and the love of friends, songs about the ongoing war humans wage against themselves and the earth. Originally from Virginia Morgan fell in love with playing music while living in NYC as a means to channel and express long years of travel and loss, fine-tuning his unique style on the streets and subways.
