Young Women at the Helm
This is an incredible three-day summer leadership program for girls ages 15 to 18 from the Hudson Valley. We sail on the Hudson studying ecology, history, navigation and life on our river. Everyone challenges themselves physically by practicing maritime skills under the watchful eyes of our professional crew. Participants sail aboard the ship during the days and camp along the Hudson’s shores at night gaining knowledge about themselves, their environment and how they can become the next generation of environmental leaders.

Young Men at the Helm
Last year marked the first annual Young Men at the Helm program! This exciting new leadership training program is for boys ages 15 to 18 from the Hudson Valley. Participants spend three days sailing aboard the ship studying local ecology, heritage, navigation and maritime skills. The young men challenge themselves phsysically by participating in sailing the ship, fishing and hiking along the banks of the Hudson. Participants sail aboard the ship during the days and camp along the Hudson’s shores at night gaining knowledge about themselves, their environment and how they can become the next generation of environmental leaders.
