Booking Group Sails for the 2010 Sailing Season

To book a group sail for spring 2010, have a look at the Spring 2010 Sailing Schedule to find out where Clearwater  and the Mystic Whaler are sailing from April- June, and to see what sail times are still available. Then, follow the application guidelines below.

You may submit applications at any time for the summer and fall seasons, however we will be unable to confirm your trip until February (for summer programs) or May (for fall programs).

To apply for sails:

  • Please fill out the 2010 Sail Application Form and submit it to us via fax, post, or e-mail. Note that we cannot reserve any dates without a completed sail application form.
  • When completing the form, be sure to include three dock choices, if possible, and at least three potential dates for your trip. If you do not have a specific date in mind, submitting a date range is acceptable (e.g. “the first two weeks of April”).
  • Also, please be sure to note any dates when you absolutely cannot sail, including any restrictions on times of day when you can sail.
  • No deposit is due with your application, and full payment must be received eight weeks prior to your trip. If you are booking a trip with fewer than eight weeks notice, full payment will be due upon receipt of your contract.
  • Your trip is not confirmed until you receive a contract from Clearwater.

Cost and Funding Assistance

The cost of 3-hour educational group sails in 2010 is $1,250. This fee includes all costs associated with our boat-based educational programs. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

Clearwater is able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships to schools and groups serving youth in underserved and environmental justice communities. Contact the Sail Coordinator for further information and for application guidelines.

Your educational trip aboard sloop Clearwater may be eligible for assistance through BOCES. Check with your local BOCES office for more information.

Teaching the Hudson Valley is offering Explore Awards for which Clearwater trips are eligible. Find the application guidelines here.
