Support Our Historic Environmental Justice Contention on Indian Point
Support Clearwaters Intervenor Petition before the Atomic Safety
Licensing Board to ensure a thorough assessment of Environmental Justice
issues and other impacts related to the proposed 20-year relicensing of
Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant.
In July, Clearwater broke new ground when the Atomic Safety Licensing
Board accepted our Environmental Justice (EJ) contention for a hearingthe
first EJ contention ever to be heard in a nuclear relicensing
proceedingalong with our contention calling for a rigorous assessment
of the radioactive leaks.
Now we must raise $50,000 immediately to cover legal fees.
The Indian Point relicensing review is at a critical stage. Clearwater
has worked very hard to get to this point but we cant move this project
forward unless we raise the funds needed to hire experienced legal
counsel to represent us. The next steps are crucial and deadlines are
absolute!
We can no longer ignore the effects of ongoing radioactive leaks, forego
alternatives such as energy efficiency and renewable energy, and
overlook the impacts of this relicensing on Environmental Justice
populations in our region.
This is a 20-year relicensing application. Once this process is
complete we wont get another chance for two decades! We must act now
and we need your help.
To ensure a thorough assessment of Environmental Justice issues and the
ongoing leaks at Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant is done now send your
