Fact Sheet 5 Department of Health Fish Advisories For the Hudson River
Clearwater wants to remind you that the Department of Health fish
advisories for the Hudson River 1998-1999:
* Women of childbearing age, infants and children under the age of 15
should not eat any fish from the Hudson River.
For all other:
* HUDSON FALLS to TROY DAM:
EAT NO FISH SPECIES.
* TROY DAM to CATSKILL BRIDGE:
EAT NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER WEEK of American Shad.
EAT NO OTHER FISH SPECIES.
* CATSKILL BRIDGE south to and including the UPPER BAY of NEW YORK
HARBOR:
EAT NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER MONTH (one-half pound) of American eel;
Atlantic needlefish; bluefish; carp; goldfish; large and small mouth
bass; rainbow smelt; striped bass; walleye; white catfish; white
perch.
NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER WEEK of other species.
EAT NO MORE THAN 6 blue crabs per week and donšt consume
heptopancreas or cooking liquids.
* LOWER BAY of NEW YORK HARBOR:
EAT NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER MONTH of striped bass.
EAT NO MORE THAN ONE MEAL PER WEEK of American eel and bluefish.
