“Bag It” Film Screening – with Sharon Rowe

The Beacon Sloop Club will show the award-winning documentary “Bag It” at its clubhouse near the Beacon Train Station at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7th. Sharon Rowe, founder of EcoBags products, who appears in the film, will appear at the free screening, to which all are invited.

Join us at the Home Port and Education Center,  50 Rondout Landing in Kingston, next to the Hudson River Maritime Museum. Bring a potluck meal and a song in your heart.

37th Annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Concert

As part of the 37th Annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, the Southern Dutchess Coalition Massed Choir will perform at the celebration service at 1:00PM at the Springfield Baptist Church in Beacon. Minister John Harris will serve as 2015 Celebration Minister of Music.  The day begins with continental breakfast at 8:30AM. A celebration parade occurs at 10:00AM, followed by a historic video, dinners for youth and adults, and announcement of the MLK Essay Contest winners before the concert.
