Beacon Sloop Club Sail Classes

Clearwater-in-Yonkers Earth Day!
Wednesday, April 22
71 Water Grant St., Yonkers, NY

Join Clearwater and our partners in Yonkers for any or all of these Earth Day volunteer activities on Wednesday, April 22, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM: At 10:00, volunteers gather at 41 Palisades Ave. downtown to help beautify an empty lot that will be used as community green space. Materials will be supplied; work begins at 11:00 and continues through 3:00 PM. At 3:30 PM, we will join other volunteers planting trees downtown and a showcase by the Science Barge at the Yonkers waterfront and a presentation by students from the SLC Center for the Urban River at Beczak. The sloop Clearwater will be docked at 71 Water Grant St. from 2:00-6:00 PM, offering live music and open deck tours. Clearwater ‘Earth Grooves’ Concert

Earth Grooves, a Clearwater fundraising event, takes place Saturday, April 25, 7:00 PM at the historic St. John’s Church in Yonkers. Presenting an evening of extraordinary music and dance, rejoicing in the wonders of nature and the Earth. Featuring West African legend, Abdoulaye Diabate, the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers and the Agua Clara Andean Ensemble. For tickets, click here. Adults, $35. Students, $15; children, free.
